How to dress

The temperature throughout the flight will be about the same as the temperature on the surface. It is usually best to dress in layers so that you can easily adjust for comfort.

I recommend that everyone wear some type of shoe that provides ankle support. The places we launch and land are not always smooth or level. Ankle support will prevent a twisted ankle injury. Do Not show up to fly wearing open toe sandals, flops, or high heels.

Long pants are also recommended. While the Pilot has control over where he choses to launch and land,  there are times the site contains high grass or briars. Long pants will protect your legs from scrapes, or allergic reaction. During warm weather, you might want to wear shorts and carry some type of sweat pant, or shell to put on if needed.

If you have long hair, it is advisable to tie it back. A hat is also recommended. It will protect your head from radiant heat from the burners and shade your eyes from the low sun. Remember, we fly during the first hours of the day.
